There are a couple of ways to do it, but I'm not sure which is best.
you can install an app on OSX that allows you to do a passthrough, but the last time I used it horizon was called workrooms.
On windows you can use the official oculus app to use your local gfx card to render graphics. THat gives you really smooth graphics at much better fidelity.
my colleague used vrdesktop to get more screen estate.
For me the screens on the O3 aren't high enough resolution, I can see the gaps between pixels, which means less dense text.
so the screen resolution might be higher, the effective resolution is not so much.
The quest feels sharper for a lot of things. Apart from the rgb camera.
Either way, for me, they are both too lower resolution for useful text work. I can see the pixels and the size of the font I want starts to fall below the effective reolution.
I realise that this is not the case for a lot of people though
