Not sure it's being less humble so much as the story being interesting for the public - chess wizz and game developer out to solve intelligence, makes AlphaGo tha beats humans at go, AlphaFold that gets the nobel prize. With Jeff Dean developing Bigtable and Spanner, no general public know what those are.
Maybe they'll replace Hassabis with someone more focussed on beating OAI and Anthropic at chatbots? He always seemed a bit more into science, protein folding, new drugs and the like.
Humans of course generally have human level intelligence and Teslas don't yet which means with similar inputs they'll probably do worse. Also I'm not sure Tesla's cameras provide as good an input as sitting in the driving seat? Certainly I can't drive nearly as well looking at the reversing screen as looking through the window.
From my experience of potentially serious injury crashes, they are mostly from going too fast and crashing into something. The ones where I've stopped and some other bad driver has gone into me are mostly too slow to cause injury.
I found the content quite interesting even if the writing style is a bit LLM. I just bought a GaN charger - I have a few, and am interested in the ongoing military strategic brilliance of the current admin.
I'm about to do an ebike train ebike journey (UK) and have to say it works rather well as a form of transport. You can work on the train and the ebike is fun, easy and has no parking problems.
